Completed in March 1953, this is the largest independently owned terminal in the world.  This ten million dollar terminal has tunnels entering from Lower Wacker Drive, and buses can enter the heart of the Loop, without traffic congestion.  The Arcade has 18 shops.

Dear Tim,

We had to come up two lots of escalators to reach street level after we got off at this terminal.  It's a mighty place.

Chicago, that wonderful town, wonderful in the sense that it is one of the four largest cities in the world and is growing all of the time.  Destroyed by fire in 1971, it was rebuilt within three years.  It is the world's greatest railroad center.

Dear Merry,

We arrived here after dark and I'm leaving at 7am tomorrow, so I won't be seeing anything much of Chicago.
