U.S.A. Pittsburgh 9.6.1962

 Greater Pittsburgh Airport.
Has the largest Terminal Building in the world.  The total area occupied by the airport is the second largest in the world.  The Terminal Building houses a complete hotel and theater, also numerous shops, bars and restaurants.

Dear Pen,

Got here from Washington late this afternoon.  Did a day's sightseeing in Washington, the White House is really impressive, even saw the lawn where Mr Kennedy's helicopter lands.

     Love, Nan.

 Monongahela Inclined Plane
Pittsburgh. Pa
One of the few remaining conveyances of it's kind in this country.  It was constructed in 1869 and has been in continued  operation since that time.  This unusual method of transportation takes visitors to the summit of the Mt. Washington Section and affords them an excellent view of Pittsburgh's Golden Triangle.

Dear Tim,

Aren't I lucky, the airmail sticker takes up so much room tht there is none left to write on?  Ha! Ha!.
     Love Nan

United States Steel Building.
525 William Penn Place.  Pittsburgh.  Pa
The striking appearance of 525 William Penn Place is achieved by the use of stainless steel panels.  One of the newest buildings on Pittsburgh's ever changing skyline, it houses the executive offices of United States Steel Corporation and the Mellon National Bank and Trust Company.

Dear Merry,

Rather snazzy building, isn't it?  I'm on the 14th floor of this hotel but it is really the 13th but they have to skip that number so as people won't think they are on an unlucky floor.

     Love Nan

Dear Fish, (Nick)

I can see a bit of the river in the picture from my window, but no seagulls.

     Lots of love, Nan
